Just 6 months after the successful launch of Mr Tax Refund, the company announced today the launch of ‘Mr BookKeeping’ – an innovative, low cost professional bookkeeping and accountancy service targeting small business.
Mr Tax Refunds’ $79 charge for basic tax preparation plus 24 hour tax refund option challenged Australia’s largest Tax Agent groups H&R Block and ITP in July. Since then the company has had a very successful debut lodging thousands of tax returns, and, advancing almost as many 24 hour refunds.
Now with the launch of Mr BookKeeping, Mr Tax Refund is turning its focus to Australian sole traders and small business.
“Mr BookKeeping is a natural extension of the Mr Tax Refund brand and service. After only a few months we’ve shaken up our competition in the tax preparation industry. Now we’ll do the same for accounting and bookkeeping services.” said Mr BookKeeping CEO Stephen Burns.
Mr BookKeeping has tailored its low cost services to appeal to tradespersons, contractors, sole traders and small businesses up to 20 employees.
“Like our tax service, Mr BookKeeping clients will be offered the same or better service for a fraction of the cost of our competitors. Unlike most of our competitors all work will all be done in Australia by university qualified accountants, so we won’t be reducing the quality of our service to attain low fees” said Burns.
To reduce costs, many bookkeeping companies today outsource some or all of their bookkeeping work to India or Asian countries such as The Philippines. Mr BookKeeping has opted to keep its entire business in Australia thereby offering clients a dedicated service from qualified local accountants.
“Mr BookKeeping is a phone based service. The cost savings achieved by providing our services exclusively over-the-phone are passed onto our clients resulting in much lower fees, but we still offer a first rate service. We are proudly Australian owned and staffed” said Burns.
The company maintains that document delivery over the Internet has made the need to attend numerous local offices redundant, and costs saved will be passed onto clients by way of reduced hourly rates. The company will also offer extended hours to allow small business owners and sole traders to focus on their business during working hours when they need to.
“Providing over-the-phone service delivery will offer clients the ability to talk to a real accountant at a time that suits them. We offer extended opening hours and are also open weekends” Burns said. “It will be an ideal solution for those who don’t have the time to do their own bookkeeping, BAS, tax preparation and lodgment”.
The majority of Australian sole traders and small businesses are overworked, overtaxed families who are paying too much for good quality services. They don’t have time to check the accuracy of bookkeeping work or that they are only paying to tax that’s necessary.
Mr BookKeeping claims it will alleviate the worry associated with bookkeeping and BAS by providing a reliable, professional solution at a rock bottom cost. Additionally, Mr BookKeeping has backed the quality of their work by offering new clients a half rate trial period.
